Black face or white face?

Watch must be suitable for both office and play.

I cant decide!

Isn't the white face a silver case and the black face a gold case (colours only, not actual precious metals)? Depends if you're a gold watch kind of guy.

Like both, although not keen on gold plated on the black one. I went for white.

I picked up a White face/Brown strap one a couple of years ago. Love it. Perfect for office/casual wear.

A few cheeky shots of it:

My father-in-law has the 'gold' one and it looks very nice.

I would have thought that the silver model would get more wear though?

Odd as it sounds, skin tone is a key element to the success or otherwise of gold watches IMHO. I've a bi-metal Oyster Quartz and it looks the business after I've had a bit of sun, and pretty awful when I'm pasty.

That's easy:

Hamilton Intra-matic.
Honestly, it's a teeny bit dearer than the Visodate, but it looks and feels like twice the watch.

Hello,

Thanks all.

I can get the Visodate in black/silver in the US. I dont wear gold so this is out.

Tempted by a Hamilton - my key essentials are it must have a clean face, ideally no numbers on the face, and a leather strap.

I thought Hamilton and Tissot are essentially the same quality but different brands under the same umbrella.

Correct me if Im wrong. Please!

Both brands are part of the Swatch group, Hamilton is pitched in the next bracket above Tissot. Both offer very good watches for the money you pay, they're also very good value pre-owned as well.

I swear that the Visodate I tried on in Ernest Jones a few weeks ago had a light face and a gold case. Is there no version like this?

I also didn't like the way it felt at all.
