Breitling Montbrilliant 1461 Jours
Discussion
Been offered this (by a reputable source) but just can't decide! I like Breitlings and have been looking to add to my 1966 Navitimer (Ref. 806).
I'm sure Breitling experts here will know that this will run without adjustment from February 29th in one leap year to February 29th the next (4 years) hence the 1461 Jours.

It's not on that bracelet but on a brand new Breitling black leather/white stitching with deployment clasp.
Does anybody have an opinion on this model (built between 1998 - 2000)? I avoid buying anything "bling" for fear that it may lead down the slippery slope to buying a gold medallion and a chest wig. But I keep telling myself that this is NOT bling because it says "Breitling" on the face
All views welcome!

I think some people might say it is very 'bling' for exactly that reason

It's not really my cup of tea personally, the layout/design/style I don't mind it's just the combination of the shiny silver bits, shiny gold bits and white face that's a bit OTT for me. That's just my opinion though, I'm sure some people would love it!

Here's a Montbrilliant 1461 Jours with a Breitling "Gold" crocodile strap...
Remarkably, I find myself agreeing with Mr Gould!
It does look better off the massively overpolished bracelet, which is completely the wrong look for a Navitimer, and the complication is impressive, but I don't like the expanse of white, personally.
I suppose it would be a remarkable contrast to an 806, but it's not for me.

It's being discussed on the strap isn't it?
Bad choice putting up a pic on the bracelet OP, people can't see past it
I chose that picture as its more representitive of the actual watch, particularly it's "whiteness" rather than the more muted "champagne" appearance of the face in the second picture. Yes it's on a new Breitling black leather strap. But I agree with westberks that face and gold hands look best on a brown strap as in the second picture.Bad choice putting up a pic on the bracelet OP, people can't see past it

Having a bit of a struggle coming to terms with the fact that whilst there is a box there are no papers or original instruction book. Given that and the asking arond £3,400, I'm having to focus hard on the fact it is a wonderful complication, moon phases etc and would look better if I could get the black strap changed for a brown croc or leather.
Thanks for the winder suggestion too. Good point. Does anyone know where these can be sourced?
