Is this genuine Panerai?

The pin holding the bridge lever should be flush
The finishing on the lugs is pretty bad
The movement looks very much like a 'modified' Seagull 6497 job, so it'll last OK.
It's a good point, the whole back of the case looks unfinished. In fact the lugs look like they were finished off with a coarse metal file! The finishing on the lugs is pretty bad

I'd be amazed if it's real (I also wouldn't ever buy a Panerai, if it was!
)One off Chrono24 for comparison :

Thanks chaps. Now that Im no longer going for it as a bargain, here is the link. Lots of effort has gone in to the forgery,

I'm really not sure about this watch... The lugs have been really badly refinished but I think that might have been done at the factory; they have a terrible reputation. The grain on the locking crown is correct as I think it's steel.
The case/lugs should be smooth with almost an ultra-fine bead blasted effect, neither polished nor satin.
I think his photo of the rear is lousy but if that's a SeaGull 6497 equivalent... They really have gone to a huge amount of effort to get the swan neck regular correct. I can;t see they;d bother, I have seen fakes with the PANERAIPANERAI text stamped in but this seems to have been correctly acid etched onto a lightly grained background. Just too much effort for a fake.
I think it's real; but I think it has had the absolute crap kicked out of it, a very hard life and the factory have left a poor finsh on the lugs. But that's my opinion based on a few lousy pictures and why I almost always deal face to face.
I say it's real. I also say don't buy it.

G series 177 on Blowers doesn't have those engravings...or am I missing
something?
Like what? something?
Or is it possible two G series 177's would differ so much?

I'm reading your last post as you are stating yours is a real 177..
Or is it possible two G series 177's would differ so much?
Interesting theory, perhaps mine is a fake, it's much less likely than you having made a mistake, of course... Or is it possible two G series 177's would differ so much?
Obviously I'd have to complain to the AD in Toronto where it was bought 9 years ago with me stood next to my mate!
By the way, the one you've linked to on Blowers site is a K series. Can be seen clearly on the back.

Well if that's how Panerai finish their watches I will stick to my boring Patek !
You haven't spoke much of your new purchase, I think you may have 'buyers blues'.If I had a disappointment it's I don't really have anywhere to go in my watch aspirations .....IMHO the Patek 5110 is perfection
