After selling my vintage Speedy to Dom H not long back, I realised it was the fist time in a decade I hadn't had an Omega on the box.

I'd had every generation of Seamaster since the Brosnan Bond watch (4) and had tried a few Speedmasters (3), all enjoyed, worn but ultimately not keepers.

I bought the SHOM on a whim as I liked the plongeur orange hand and admired vintage Seamasters without having the bravery (or finances) to wear a PlopProf or a baby P. A SHOM came up on tz-uk at a price I could live with and probably pass on without too much lost so I jumped on it. Just back from holiday to find the original NOS Omega bracelet on my desk, fitted it and to say I'm pleased with the results is an understatement smile Gives the watch some real presence without bling and it's exceptionally comfortable.

The watch history is unknown but it's immaculate - too immaculate in fact to be original 70s and I believe it has been assembled from NOS or replacement parts; I am fine with that as I get a perfect condition watch with a period feel and get to feel exactly what it would have been like to own it new back then.

Good to have the hippocampus back on my wrist smile

Not a Yuki case and an elderly 565 movement, I hope. It could be a 'Watchco' with a well serviced movement, but this uncertainty has always put me off buying my own as Im not sure that I know enough to check.

It's a Watchco with a nicely regulated c.1012. No complaints smile
