A lucky escape for my treasured watch.

It's not very PH. This isn't a Rolex or an Omega, just a black Casio digital watch that I got for Christmas 1983 when I was 13.
I tend to wear it in the summer on days like today when shorts T-shirt and No socks are the rider of the day.
I thought I'd give one of the cars a quick wash so deposited the watch in my pocket.
Car cleaned and I couldn't find my watch. I had a look around and discovered a hole in my shorts pocket.
I found the watch, or at least the end of the strap poking out from under the front wheel of the car. I'd moved it back from the middle of the gravel drive back to the corder where it lives.
Drove the car forward fearing the worst. It was covered in dust but intact. All Stil working with as far as I can tell just two more scratches to add to the already scratched front. I guess the gravel had "give" and saved it.
A bloody lucky escape for a watch that's been with me in scrapes from the school field to the South Atlantic and beyond.

That's a pretty awesome story!
I once left my Omega Planet Ocean in a changing room - I wouldn't usually remove my watch, but the cuffs of the shirt were a little tight over the watch. So I placed it down, kept reminding myself in my head to put it back on, but somehow forgot. I went and paid for the shirts and walked out of the store. It was only when I looked down to check the time I realised what I had done! I've never ran so fast in my life.
I flew past the changing room attendant and fortunately, it was where I had left it. I tried to explain to her the reason for me rushing past, which turns out is a little difficult when you're slightly out of breath and you have adrenaline coursing through your veins!

Sounds like a good reason not to own an Omega Planet Ocean. Whatever one of those is?
