Rolex 16610LV Green Bezel / 50th Anniversary
Discussion
Does anyone know is a 2007 16610LV Green Bezel should have the 'rolexrolexrolexrolexserialnumberrolexrolexrolex' engraved on the rehaut? Also whether it should have the Rolex logo etched on the crystal at the 6pm mark?
I'm looking at one that has neither.
Also what would be a rough value of such a watch? Box and papers all present - and apart from the tiniest chip on the edge of the crystal, otherwise unmarked.

Not sure about the rehaut, I know that they did change this but I don't think it was 2007- if you are that concerned I would recommend getting the serial number and checking with rolex
Regarding value, the earlier 'flat 4' models are supposed to be worth slightly more but if you look around they can vary between £4500 and £6000. Given that I'm guessing this is a private sale and the watch has some small damage I would be looking at paying around the 4k mark, maybe even a bit lower.
watchfinder always seem to ask at the top end of the range and I do wonder sometimes if they do sell at the higher end for what they are asking..prices for the LV seemed to have pulled back over the last month or so which would suggest not
whilst purchasing my DSSD a couple of months ago I let on that I had an unworn 2003 LV with all seals still intact. The dealer reckoned he could easily get 6.5k for it but again I would take this with a pinch of salt

Everything you ever wanted to know about the 16610LV, but were afraid to ask!

FWIW, I can never spot the etched crown. You need the right light, the right angle and probably a loupe.

Bought mine I think in March 2007 new, no etching on rehaut. From memory, a 'Z' serial number.
A mate of mine (the bar-steward got me into watches in the first place) had a later one with the rehaut engraving, and sold it to a workmate for just £3k.

The watch may be 2007 sold hence the date of the papers but could of been manufactured earlier, as the Sub transitioned to the engraved ring there may have been older models lying in dealers safes waiting to be sold / dated. Regarding the etched coronet it should have one unless the crystal has been replaced and then if done by Rolex is would display a S in the base of the crown or nothing if a non Rolex replacement was used.
A lot of fuss is made over which version is the most desirable from first edition to last edition but the bottom line is the most desirable is the one you want! They all tick the same and are a true Rolex classic piece. The important bit is that it is in the condition you are happy with.
