Anyone thinking about an Offshore Field Engineer
Discussion
Well, I am the latest lucky owner of Lorne's chronograph.
I read a lot of the reviews and comments and wanted to see the piece before I parted with my hard earned, so I emailed Lorne and we very quickly arranged a time for me to go to his house to view.
He took plenty of time over a welcome cup of tea, to explain how the watch had developed and it's functions and the rigorous testing to get it where it is today. As I am also from an engineering background this was fascinating and really demonstrated the amount of effort and technical research, and quality / robustness of the components that have gone into the development of this watch.
I was unsure of the tachymeter bezel or the Roman numerals bezel so we looked at both and the decision was made there and then.
Lorne is a gentleman, his watch is a quality product which I can tell having handled many other so called quality timepieces over the years whilst deciding which to spend my hard earned on, backed up by a second to none warranty and after sales service, all for a very reasonable price.
For those of you pondering the Field Engineer and in the fortunate position like me to be able to consider buying one, all I can say is you will not be disappointed with the product, the pedigree or the service you will receive from Lorne, all of the highest order. Thank you Lorne, first class and good luck for the future.

thank you for such a nice write-up. It was, of course, a complete pleasure to chat about all things horological and engineering.
all the best

Yeah I am thinking about one as an offshore worker and admirer of excellent thought and engineering. I may wait until no76 is released though as that is my birth year.
I not only think the watch is practical but also stunning engineering. Congrats my friend.
I remember 1976, the year the summer went on forever, and the year I had the most monumental school yard fight. Unfortunately though 076 (and 077 - flared trousers) have already gone. How about the Bay City Rollers of 73?I not only think the watch is practical but also stunning engineering. Congrats my friend.

Whilst I think Lorne's watch is a lovely thing, I am interested in the hyperbole here. Which 'so called quality timepieces' have you handled?^^ It wasn't a trick question, all that was being asked was what watches does it compare well to.
Lorne comes across as being a decent chap and those that have one of his watches are very happy with them, it would be great for someone who has experience of other "so called quality timepieces" to share more detail so that others have a referrence point to work to

Not for me I am afraid, I was going to email some while ago when I first seen your watches on here but thought you would hold numbers back,
I don't like to run too far ahead of the production sequence numbers, but at the same time like to try to accommodate special requests.I've also got a 'loaner' watch that I'm quite happy to send to UK addresses so people can wear it for a few days to get a good feel for the size, weight balance, styling etc. - and to compare against other makes of course. I know buying from photo's and the internet is a worrying thought so my intent one day is to find a jewelry or independent watch chain that I can sell through. Just a little concerned at the moment that they seam to do about a 100% mark up on everything they sell - now that's a profit margin!

Before I can afford the watch, does anyone need to employ an offshore engineer!? Lol.
