I'm after a ladies Rolex for my wife and saw two during my lunchbreak in Gray's Antique Market, one from Timespec and another from second time round. The former was about £500 cheaper for what looked like an identical watch, but without the papers.
Does the lack of papers mean that a £3.5k watch should be £3k? (although now I'm on second time round's website, they are cheaper online than walking in off the street!)
Has anyone dealt with either of these shops?
thank you

Yep. Full set of Rolex papers (i.e.original guarantee, box, tags, chromo certificate) is reckoned to be worth around £500 on the selling price

On a ladies Rolex, the box and papers do not add as much value as on a steel sports, like a submariner for example. If you can get 500 off for a lack of box and papers then you are doing well.

thank you both. I've never heard of timespec before and never noticed them at Gray's either. Has anyone here dealt with them?

Of course, the papers are really only worth £500 if you are intending to sell at some point.
