Can someone tell me if it's possible to repair a cheap quartz watch that's given up on life?

Long story short, Bought my future wife a Sekonda watch some twenty odd years ago when I was a spotty little oik as a birthday present. We'll soon be celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary and I thought it would be a nice touch to get it working again as it's holds huge sentimental value to her.

I've tried changing the battery but no joy, so does anyone know of a company that bothers repairing cheap quartz watches and that can do a fairly quick turnaround? (I'm a typical bloke so have obviously left it a bit late!)

How close have you left it?

We're happy to work on anything (much to the disapproval of some on here when the question of copies comes up biggrin )but we're heading away to Colchester area next Thursday for a week.

A Sekonda of that age may be one of the old (and obsolete) Russian movements - they can sometimes be ressurected bu it's often a case of fitting a current Japanese (or Swiss if you wan to pay for it) movemen in its place.

If 3-4 weeks would be ok, or if you could get it here by Saturday - which would give me a fighting chance to get it finished by Wednesday - then feel free to drop me a PM smile
