Obviously I'm not suggesting anyone knows such nefarious types but it must be a pretty individual watch!

TT winner John McGuinness's £10k watch stolen in Morecambe

The watch is engraved with "TT Senior Winner"
Motorcycle racer John McGuinness has had a £10,000 watch stolen in his home town of Morecambe, police have said.

The watch is engraved "TT Senior Winner" and was presented to him after he won the race on the Isle of Man last year.

It is thought it was taken from the glove compartment of a van parked on Mayfield Drive some time between Saturday evening and Monday morning.

The 21-time TT winner is offering a reward for the watch's safe return.

McGuinness is one of the most successful TT riders, and became the first man to break the 130mph barrier on the course in 2007.

We've all done it at some time, shame they chose a Graham and not a quality watch!

Carbon fiber, sporty look - fit for a racer. And it's a British brand too.
I'd "make do" with a £5k Racing model.

He probably has, just chucked the bugger in the glovebox when he was given it and forgot about it!

If the legend that is John McGuiness gets one of these for every TT win, then he'll have another 20 tucked away. Even if it's just for the Senior TT, then he'll have another 5. For him, the pride will be in the winning, not the value of the watch given by the sponsors so no wonder it was left in his RV glove box.

If someone leaves a £10k watch in the glove compartment, it's hard to be sympathetic if it gets nicked
Unless someone sees you place it there then surely there is no greater likelihood of a break in than there otherwise would be?
