Hi All,

I think this is the best place to post this.....I need ideas for a gift for my wife's 40th birthday.

I think she likes the idea of diamonds, she already has a couple of rings but nothing else.

I hate depreciating assets and would prefer gold !! but she doesn't like gold! I'm sure there are lots of other things I could do, holiday away but we are planning a big holiday for next year, could do a spa day/night hotel??

I'm struggling with ideas?

Please help, budget £200-£2000.

similar situation I've just been in. the missus ended up preferring the look of the sports watches rather than the traditional looking Rolexes I was looking at.ended up with a cartier must 21, top end of your budget and quite unusual. not that many around which seemed to add to the allure. she absolutely loves it

got the 50th approaching for my Mrs and she opted for a J12 (at least it was the 38mm with an auto movement), i tried to get her into a Rolex or JLC, but the girl wants what she wants. one that i won't want to borrow!

J12 fits the sporty(ish) look in a very girly way so might a consideration.

Looked at the j12 myself but she fell for the must 21 so I bought the one that watchfinder had available......as you say, it certainly won't be making it onto I my dressing table but she's happy!!!

That's assuming a man-sized watch can ever look girlie hehe
