Hi, I wonder if anyone can impart some advice?
I feel my collection has got a little large - see poor iphone photo.
I can sometimes go months without wearing one of the watches in the collection. This, I feel, is a bit of a waste.
So, I'm thinking of selling up and replacing with one or two watches. It's likely I'd hang on to a couple of the G-Shocks as well.
I am though a bit stumped as to what to buy....Rolex Milgauss, Tudor of some sort, Omega, some extra cash and a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms....?
Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!
Ahh, 'One watch to rule them all'...
It's a great concept but rarely works unless you find something you can just stare at endlessly, it may exist and you need to get something that will stand the test of time. Or you'll just want more again.
Can't go wrong with a good diver from one of the major makers TBH; Sub, SeaMaster, Pelagos, SuperOcean. Some with chronos are great as well. If you can stretch to a Fifty Fathoms... That's a heck of a watch.
None of them are going anywhere, so get selling what you don't wear and see where you are money wise.

Current thinking is go for a Rolex Milgauss (I find most other Rolexes a bit too...Rolex) and a Tudor Heritage Chrono or Black Shield.
This may of course change tomorrow....

I currently have around 10 good watches. This may sound like a lot, but I'm down from 50!!
I went for a collection of 'quality rather than quantity' and it's cost me some beauties that I never thoyught I;d [part with. At the end of the day, if i reach my goal then it was all worth it.
The Milgauss has never appealed to me; my first Rolex was an Explorer and I still think that takes some beating. It's just about the perfect watch; discreet, reliable, great looking and available in the original 36mm size or a more fashionable 39mm. The choice is yours!
The ultimte Rolex 'bargain' right now seem to be the 42mm Explorers, they are cropping up for well under £4k all the time. Cheapest I have seen was £3.4k!

I have just sold my Rolex , Vacheron Super fine, Vacheron Royal Eagle , Patek World time, Im down to Yeti's old JLC reverso and a JLC Geographic .......how times have changed !!
I'll have the Geographic please Michael if it has to go... Times are indeed hard, I hope your wife hadn't invested in oil and gas...
We are buying a new house and the moving cost and the work it needs has lots and lots of 0000 , so a sock drawer full of watches did seem a little silly. The Geographic is my favourite watch and you're not getting your hands on it Yeti (well not yet) made a profit on each watch apart from the Rolex which I sold back to the supplying dealer for £50 less than I paid him for it 2 years ago (not a bad rental price). The Aston is staying !!

The Milguass is very cool indeed...
I would go for that.
Seriously considering one myself..or a white face daytona..
I honestly don't think you can step a foot wrong with a decent classy rolex in steel.
It is cool! I don't think I would want any other Rolex though - not really my cup of tea..too much of a default option.I would go for that.
