...Amazon ones to be precise (£50 worth). I quite fancy something like a G-shock or similar - a kinda tough, rugged watch as my old one has given up the ghost and my other watches are quite dressy.

Looked at Timex etc. but any recommendations?

That is the stock answer to any question like this.

I've got one, along with half of Pistonheads, and they're great.

The problem with G-shocks is that they are nasty quartz things with LCD displays.
£50 will get you a Seiko 5, tough as ol' boots and an auto too.

Whaddya mean prejudiced against quartz?

Crikey - I never knew there were so many variations of the G-Shock. I'm struggling to understand the difference?

The other consideration is the size of these? I have pretty puny wrists unfortunately so would they look like big, chunky things or are those pics overstating the perception of size?

Whatever I get does need to be waterproof though. I'm liking the style of the Casio - just a shame it doesn't have a stopwatch....

I have one of those but on a bracelet. I've had it for years. Just started wearing it again as my Tissot T-Touch is in having a new battery installed. Runs a bit fast but manageable.

A Seiko 5 would be where my voucher goes

I have a seiko 5 automatic and a g-shock. ( in addition to a more expensive precista)

Both are great watches - i tend to wear the g shock more as it doesn't need adjusting / and is suitable for gym/ sports etc.

Not all g shocks are big and chunky - mine is about 41mm and has hands.

At that price point I'd probably go for a quartz watch - more to choose from ( either seiko, Gshock or maybe citizen )
