So, after trying find a Tag CT1110 for the last year I finally gave up when I was strolling down the high street and saw a WT1110 (the non chrono version of the CT) tucked away in the shop window. I popped in, not expecting much, but it turned out that it had the original boxes and papers and was originally purchased from an AD just 50 yds away. I snapped it up straight away.
It's in really good condition and the more I wear it, the more I like it. I'll get it serviced soon, but for now, I'll just keep wearing it. Well chuffed.

Why do people insist on calling TAG Heuer watches 'Tag'?
Generally one of 2 reasons:(1) They don't understand the relative parts that Tag and Heuer played historically (ie: investment company and watch company respectively), so don't see anything wrong with using the "obvious" shorthand
(2) They do realise the relative parts that tag and Heuer played historically, and have strong enough views on what Tag have done to Heuer over the years that they wouldn't contaminate the venerable name of Heuer by associating it with the comparative dross that's been produced by tag
Most come under the first category, I suspect at least one poster round here comes under the second

I disagree Joe!
Technigues d'Avant Garde were good custodians: they saved the company, invested, and Heuer grew. LVHM are the villains here.
Agreed to a point - they certainly kept the name alive.Technigues d'Avant Garde were good custodians: they saved the company, invested, and Heuer grew. LVHM are the villains here.
But, even in the early days, seeing things like the F1 (perfectly capable and well made quartz watches in their own right) carrying the name Heuer was offensive to many.
Bear in mind that this was still just about the tail end of the quartz revolution. You could still buy sub £10 mechanicals as day-to-day wear and a lot of serious watch enthusiasts still saw anything quartz as the work of Satan.
And then they went and made a cut-price plastic version!!!!

I have contributed more than you, so far & can wee further than yourself. How do you spell "nerrr nerrr na nerr nerrr" by the way? Oh & Porsche 924s are basically the best thing since sliced bread & if you disagree, well I'll send my dad round, 'cos he's bigger than yours.
Err, ok Melchett said:
And here it is:
Nice
Incidentally, regardless of my earlier comments, I quite like TAG Heuer in that era and some of their newer production are worthy watches. My only real problem is with the mid-range quartz stuff, using sub-£20 movements, that's priced as if it was something really special.
I've got nothing against names carrying a premium, but when almost the whole of the price is "name" someone's taking the piss!
