I don't know anything about watches and appreciate most of the chat on the forum is about the higher end of the market but wondered if anyone could recommend me a good mens watch for sub £200?

Looking to buy gift for male relative in his 60s

Appreciate a nice/good quality watch for less than £200 may be a misnomer but any feedback much appreciated....

Have a look at the "Let's see your Seikos" thread.

If your fussy about wearing a brand you will always pay a premium for a known high street brand........ Most of them pay royalties to around 20% to the brand owner .... Michael Kors get around that for every watch Fossil Sells for them ( as the manufacturer).... If you want a good watch watch at a reasonable price look at Tissot.... Owned by swatch and in the same stable as Omega, Rado, Breguet etc you will get a good eta Swiss Quartz for that price... Plus it has a pedigree.

The Mondaine is a good shout.

I just bought myself a Seiko SNZF17 'Sea Urchin' and I'm really happy with it. It's decent quality and well under budget.

At this price point I'm also for the Mondaine...
But also very supportive of Seiko too

Below was a last minute Airport purchase when visting a dodgy country...
I have to say I really like it.. Its big.. 44mm... Kinetic so winds with the wrist...

For something a bit different.... try here...http://www.wernersflyingwatches.com/ fascinating collection of I think German stuff.. The guy is really friendly and you probably won't see another one on someones wrist...

I'm not entirely sure of their heritage... But Werners seem to act as a UK distributor for Niche watchmakers Aeromatic (Dutch) and Astroavia (German)... I have to say there are some nice looking designs. I have bought a couple from Werners and they have been great... just a bit of fun as an aside to my other more traditional collection.
