Thought I'd ask the guru's in here.

My wife Tag has stopped and would reckon it's just the battery, question is can this been done by a regular jewellers or does it need an authorised repairer to do it?

No problem at all to do.

Depending on whether or not she relies on the water resistance you might want to track down somewhere that does their own pressure testing but they're about as simple as they get to do.

Sadly, at most places you can expect to pay a premium because of what it says on the dial but nothing like the premium (not to mention suggested / enforced extra work and several week delay) that the authorised network will impose!

I had mine done at a local reputable jewellers, it was sent away and came back with a new battery and seal which was all guaranteed.

Cost was £75, If you can afford a watch like that then its best to look after it properly.

Damn, I barely charge more than that to change the whole movement on these - and that's genuine movement with seals as needed, pressure test and 12 month guarantee!!

Local high street jeweller in Belper Derbyshire would charge £5.00.
No guarantee but i doubt the watch will ever be taken to 200m.
It's not rocket science.

That's £5 for a battery change, new seals, pressure test and 12 month guarantee??

Genuine question as if this is the case then i don't understand how money is being made.

Locally we do them for £3.50 with new back seal as required and a guarantee that it'll be as proof as it was when it got to us. ie: We don't guarantee crown or glass seals without pressure testing (we haven't disturbed them), but we won't have created any leaks ourselves smile
