Hi I picked up this Citizen this week but I can't get the temp gauge to work.

It just blinks from blank to 3 bars as in the pics.

Any ideas if it has to be "set"

Any help appreciated smile

Try this site: http://365d24h60m.com/adjusting-temperature/

From that it looks like the sensor adjustment is internal, and would normally read an incorrect value, not --.-'C which makes me think something is broken. frown Worth asking on that site if anyone has seen it behave similarly.

Hi, yes I have been on that site. It helped me no end setting the time and how to sync the ana with the digi.

There is this page where he seems to show the same as mine...

http://365d24h60m.com/how-to-set-alarm-time/

But it's a bit "pigeon English" and I can't quite understand what he's trying to say. frown

Do you know if an all clear / reset was performed after the last battery change? If not then it can lead to all sorts of unexpected behaviour.

I can't remember for certain (it's a LONG time since I've seen one of those) but most of the Citizen movements can be reset by pressing and holding all 4 pushers for about 5 seconds.

You'll then need to go through the full set-up again....

Hi,

I've tried the reset and still no temp. I've also taken the back off to check the spring which I've read about and that also seems correct.

So the only theory I has left was a dodgy battery.

One new Ranata battery and....

Result smile

If it was running ok otherwise then it's quite likely that it was more a case of removing power (the good old switch off / switch on) than the battery actually being low.

But it certainly doesn't hurt to know there's a fresh, decent quality, cell in there smile
