I've noticed this evening that the pusher for the start/stop on my Carrera Chrono has gone walkies. Is this a part that a good indy can get a replacement for, and if so what sort of price am I looking at?

Cheers

Tom.

Some are available, some aren't and some might be (don't you just love consistent policy by makers!!!)

If you've got a photo or the model number then may be able to narrow it down for you. In terms of price a single original pusher (if available)inc pressure testing, post etc, would be around £70. Obviously, if it's a quartz then there'd be a fresh battery thrown in gratis while it was open wink

Carrera Calibre Chrono, bit over two years old. It's an auto and has an image of Fangio cast into the case back if that helps narrow it down.

This one?

That's on the "maybe" list (in fact, "probably") but would need to measure the pusher cap and case fitting to be sure - there are a couple that are close on size (+/- 0.5mm or so).

That's the one. Are there any dims I can measure for you to confirm or would ti be dims inside the case?

The diameter and "depth" of the pusher cap would be helpful to narrow it down a little, but really need to be within about 0.2mm to be meaningful, There's also the fitting diameter to the case (probably 2.5mm but some are 2.4 and needs the pusher body removed to measure) and the overall length from outside to inside.

We do provide free return post on jobs we can't complete though to cover this sort of situation wink

Can you find pushers for stopwatches Joe? I have a Breitling which has the reset pusher at 10 o'clock missing.

If you're talking hand-held stopwatches then unlikely to be available to buy but should be easy enough to make to order (they're not exactly small in most cases!)

What sort of price would it be to make them, please? I have my eye on two others which are both missing a pusher.

Hard to say without seeing the pusher in question but, assuming a fairly straightforward polished stainless steel jobby, probably around £40 - £50 fitted.

Thanks Joe. Theyre probably not worth the cost of the pushers and postage, so I will try to focus on what I already have and spend the money on the repairs that I already need.

Hi Joe. The body of the pusher is still there, only the button has come off, so I'll stick a pair of verniers on it in a bit. Can you give me your email and I'll send over a couple of photos to show the problem.
