Been looking for an unusual watch for the other half, and eventually settled on a Frederique Constant.

Watch arrived yesterday, wrapped in a bubble wrap bag in a plain card box, no proper case. They have offered, and already processed a partial refund, or Will take a return. They have no further stock.

It's going to be an everyday watch, and it is not of great value in the grand scheme of watches, so practically, no box isn't an issue, but it will slightly taint the anniversary gift experience...

So, would you be happy to accept this?

Nope. Are you sure it is genuine?

Can't be 100% certain, but it came direct from Amazon, not through the marketplace.

Came from Germany, so that would explain the better price.

What exact model, and what was the price?

Model is FC-235M1S6, and was £335 before the 10% refund.

I'm thinking I'm just going to return it and get it elsewhere, will cost me another £150.

It is a lovely watch though.

Edited to add, the extra cost is in addition to now not having an anniversary present in time...

https://www.chrono24.com/en/frederiqueconstant/sli... – you'll pay 2% if you use C24 checkout, which offers a certain level of protection if not happy with what you receive.
That said, you could haggle with the seller, see if they offer PP, etc, and just deal directly.
Allow £20 for delivery, and you're still saving money.

Funny, I'd been looking on there for some older models, didn't occur to me to look for new too.

Watch ordered and fingers crossed might just still arrive in time.

I wouldn't worry about it, it sounds very much like a 'grey market' watch.

It's gone from the manufacturer to an official dealer.

Official dealer has sold excess stock / gone bankrupt / sold off out of date stock to a grey dealer.

It's normal for boxes to be missing, warranty cards are never stamped though, your warranty is with the grey dealer you bought it from, not the manufacturer.

There's a truck load of Seiko watches coming over daily from the likes of Creation Watches and Sky Watches in Singapore exactly the same way.
