Baume and Mercier

Nice watches, excellent pedigree but (as PJS says)slightly overlooked compared to the mainstream names.
In terms of quality, consider that they're part of Richemont Group (IWC, Cartier, Jaeger, Vacheron etc) and they simply don't operate in the plastic throwaway market like certain other groups do.

It is but at 44mm it's way too big for something that's trying to be elegant and dressy.
Well surely that depends - on whether you are 6' 8" and 20 stone or 5' 0" and 6 stone? You wouldn't rubbish a £5k suit because the owner had a 40" waist.

I view big watches in the same vein. It's just an opinion
You're either way behind or light-years ahead of the fashion

Still get surprised occasionally when I get in one of the "big" watches from back in my early repair days (original G Shock / Citizen Promasters etc) and see how tiny they look compared to a lot of modern stuff.
