Sad perhaps, but I always test my incomings check the power reserve in the JLC Deep Sea chrono is supposed to have 65 hours

Well on test it achieved 69.5 - very impressive.

I then checked my records though & the Seiko Spring Drive Diver

achieved 75 hours. This was so good, I checked it twice in case I'd made a mistake.

I know there are a number of 3, 5 and 8 day movements out there, but I'm still pretty impressed.

I've never really been that bothered about long power reserves but just recently I've wished that my daily wearer had a little more. I tend to wear the same watch during the week and then wear something else at the weekend. This means if I take it off on Friday night it doesn't quite have enough to make it through until Monday morning. OK, so it's no hardship to set and wind it but it would be nice just be able to pick it up and wear it.

I've never felt the need for one, but maybe I'll get a winder.

Aye, but it looks crap, and not much use when the LCD display starts to go.

Don't be so lazy! Give it 20 winds or so on Saturday or Sunday mornings, and it'll be still raring to go on Monday.
A winder is only for those that go for a week or more between wearings.

Jeez, that means getting it out the drawer. I haven't got the time for such things.

(You're right, but it's more forgetfulness than laziness)

Set a reminder on your iPhone (other so called smartphones are available!) then – set it to reoccur each Saturday or Sunday.
Alternatively don't put in in the drawer on Fridays, leave it out 'til Saturday.

In other words, STOP MAKING BLOODY EXCUSES! biggrin

It's the same movement in my SBGA003, the 9R65 has an official reserve of 72h IIRC. Never checked mine to the exact hour, come to think of it I don't think that I've ever properly checked any of the watches I've owned, but I know my GS is still indicating that it has some oomph left well into its third day. I'm going to have to give it a full wind in the morning nerd

If I don't wear my Oris for a day or two it always seems to have stopped about an hour before I put it back on.

My Nomos seems to last 4 or 5 days, but winding it is so satisfying that it rarely goes that long without being wound.

That GS Diver is gorgeous, I'd love one.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but why the dislike for winders? I've noticed it before on this forum, surely if the power reserve isn't enough to say, last a weekend, then what's wrong with putting it on a winder for a couple of days?

It's a matter of personal preference really, and that of convenience depending on the watch complications. Something like an infrequently worn moonphase would require a bit more than just a few crown rotations to set it up right, a regular date three hander can easily be wound and set in not that many seconds. There's also the fact that a permanently running watch will wear faster than one that isn't, though regular servicing will of course negate that.

Generally though, it's just a case of MTFU and don't use a winder biggrin
