I am looking for a red and blue bezel Rolex Submariner - I would like to buy new if possible. I am abroad quite often to Amsterdam and other European countries and I am not adverse to using 0 percent finance if I cannot obtain reasonable discount on a cash price; I know some Goldsmiths branches do this.

Where is best to look in the UK or should I be looking to purchase outside of the UK?

Thanks

I've heard the Canary Islands is quite good for this (no personal experience).

Red and blue would be a GMT Master II and not a submariner ?

GMT is the one with a red and blue bezel, but new it's only available as white gold, or maybe platinum not 100% sure, and it's £23999. Steel only has the black bezel now.

As above, the red and blue is the GMT and if you want a new one it's white gold which will be heavy and about £20k.

If however you want a stainless steel one, you need to look for a model number 16710 BLNR. They are like hens teeth unused (globally) and I have not seen one in the UK for a long time. However, you can possibly pick up one that's been refurbished by Rolex - in fact I can point you to one if needs be.

Out of interest how much would the old red/blue bezel watch in an unused condition be worth? Say z serial from 2007/2008...

A used Sea Master here: http://duall.sg/

The seller is a private trader in Singapore. He is trustworthy in my experience from when I bought from him.

The one I have is fresh from Rolex and warrantied by them. Probably worth less than £5k.

What's that got to do with wanting a ROLEX?

As far as I can see, the one at the end of that link is not unused and you won't find one on eBay unused in this country I doubt.

Harveys, is yours actually unused and stickered? With the original clear stickers in pristine condition?

Yes absolutely brand new. Bought from Pragnells.

It's the black/red one (coke) one. but I do have a sealed red/blue bezel for it.

I paid rrp for it...think it was a few pounds less than £2800.

Not thinking of selling yet...just curious.

Plus I got a few other references again brand new.

Only one i wear is a d serial submariner lv which is 10 years old this month.

It's ultimately worth what someone will pay. But my best guess is £6500 ish.

The seller has one for sale, so leading a horse to water.

I bought an unworn 16710 Pepsi dated 1999 with a Swiss dial on TZUK about four years ago and paid £3,250. I've worn it a few times and have kept some of the stickers on it (the ones that can't be seen). I only tend to wear it on special occasions as my GMTC BLNR is my daily watch.

I am sure you wouldn't do this. But I have seen a number of them over the past few years advertised as "unworn and stickered", where the stickers are looking dog-eared and grubby, suggesting that they have been worn and are not therefore as described.

Mine's not for sale and has clearly been worn now as the stickers are a bit grubby and the bracelet has a couple of minor hairlines

All of mine get worn in rotation, while I try to keep them pristine I'm not one for just looking at them in their boxes biggrin
