I've just had a my Breitling Chronomat Evo serviced by Breitling which cost me nearly 600 quid but(!) it now looks absolutely fantastic, it was getting a bit tired as a daily wear with a few knocks and scratches and now it looks spanking again.

So question is, if I'd had it serviced locally and saved myself a few quid would I have got the same external refurb? Or as I'm hoping the fact that it went back to the factory and has come back almost like new was worth the extra?

I'm happy to pay say up to 25% more for a factory job but much more than that and I feel my leg may have been lifted...

No, unless you pay extra

Also no, but an independent may struggle for parts, and at £600, it sounds like it needed a few replacements as part of the service

Yeh I think it had a new hand and something else that I can't quite remember.

Either way I'm dead chuffed with the outcome and will do it all again in time I'm sure.

Depends on who your local guy is. I know some independents who can do amazing case restoration but it all takes time and thus money.
