My new Omega Cal 30TC
Discussion
Hi
New to the watch forum although I have a small selection of more current watches but thought that I would venture out into the dark vintage side. I have just bought this although its not arrived yet but this is what the advert said.
Early post war Omega from 1947 in yellow gold Version with legendary Calibre 30T2!
Case: Ref. 2256 in 18K yellow Gold in perfect unpolished condition showing almost no scratches. case no. 10.847.133 showing very large diameter of 37,5mm w/o crown.
Dial: Original not refinished in exceptional condition with minor ageing.
Crystal: Almost new, no scratches.Movement: Original Omega Calibre 30T2 SC PC, no. 11.237.073. Keeping time accurate as to be considered it should. Movement have had an overhaul about one year ago and works even better than it looks.

I bought it firstly because I like the look of it and want to wear it but also most of the watches of this era have 33-35 mm cases and these larger ones just look a lot better on the wrist. I'm 6' 2" and the smaller ones look like I am wearing a ladies watch
I also have a Big Pilot and a 47 mm Panerai so even this will take some getting used to.
Firstly, what is it called? Is it just known by the calibre, I will do some searches. Can anyone recommend some good reference books for Omega watches from this period. Thanks.
Edited to say, the thread heading is wrong but I can't edit it, should say 30T2
