I know it's pretty easy to get discounts off swiss watches without even being a haggling expert but what about if you are after a 0% interest option?

A mate wants a Planet Ocean Chrono at £5200 RRP as his first and last watch, i've been out the game for a few years!

From somewhere like Goldsmith's?
Pretty much zero I'm afraid.

0% interest is a discount. Just not a very good one at today's rates.

You'd be better off talking to someone like Dominic H, getting a good price and sourcing decent finance from elsewhere. Pick someone who specialises in loans, like a bank for example. The final price payed will be lowest if you pick this route.

Last year in Ernst Jones I got 22.5% discount and 0% finance on my Omega if you don't ask you don't get. Was offered the 20% straight off I had to haggle for the other in form of free replating of rings. Go for it.

Secure the discount first, then ask for 0% interest ... Alternatively, ask for discount and use a credit card with 0% interest to essentially do exactly the same! smile

Last year after reading the deal Barry got I went in and got exactly the same deal on an Omega Planet Ocean from Earnest Jones. It was even that hard, just told them my mate had got the same deal, they made a call and deal done.

As Barry said if you don't ask you don't get. When I went in to pick mine up there was a woman there who was just buying one for her husband as a present and paid full whack.

They can't offer a choice of discount or 0% finance, as that's just subsidising the finance by inflating the cost. If they offer a discount for a cash buy and are advertising a 0% finance offer they have to give both. Enforcing that could be hard though...
