Alternative to this Citizen?
Discussion
Morning guys,
My Dad saw this Citizen he liked the look of the other day in the window of Ernest Jones, so I thought I'd get him a watch for Christmas...

Nothing wrong with Citizen, but can anybody recommend anything similar to this, which is a little bit more premium/luxury? £600-800ish? Automatic would be preferable.
This will just be a daily wearer and as such I'd like something with a fabric (or possibly leather) strap; he doesn't find metal bracelets as comfortable.
I've seen a couple of Hamilton's which fit the bill, mainly the Kahki Field Titanium.

Thanks for the help.

I had just written out a fair amount of information, only to then accidentally close the tab! Annoying ... Anyway, the Citizen takes inspiration from Flieger/Flight/Pilot watches! I had posted links to the following watches, but check out the Stowa Flieger (with/without logo or dates), Steinhart Nav B-Uhr 44 and the Fortis Flieger Automatic. All are in budget and all are decent, high quality pieces. The Stowa has a well finished movement with display back, which may swing your decision

One quiet bit of advice.
Before opting for an auto try to be sure that he won't mind the inevitable reduction in accuracy and possibly occasional stop if he doesn't wear it for a day or two.
I came up against this with my dad a decade or more ago. Wanted to get him a nice-ish watch and picked up an early Seamaster, similar to one he'd had when I was growing up. Obviously serviced it etc before he got it and he was delighted but - within a month or two - I noticed he was wearing his battered old quartz again.
Worried that there might be a problem he didn't like to tell me about I asked (via Mum) and it turned out he liked the watch, loved the thought behind it, it was running fine, but he really just wanted something he could put on and forget about from one clock change to the next.
His priorities and mine obviously didn't quite match!
