I think there is a Hinds in Guildford
Thanks , I'm actually in Fleet and have an automatic Seamaster with a broken bezel and strap.
There is a Hinds in Fleet.
A good friend has a manual Seamaster (he lives in Guildford), his requires a new battery and a service / clean up.
The quotes from Goldsmiths in Farnham were crazy !
Are Hinds recommended ? I'd never have thought of taking the watch there.
Thanks,
Nick

Seriously though, and not in your league, but I have a special addition Tissot that I bought at Ernest Jones in Guildford and they have been brilliant to me in the past, even replacing the whole rose gold casing out of warrantee FOC when it started to fade in places. They reckoned it was aftershave that did it, but no worries, came back with new case, buttons etc for no charge

'Not in my league'....at least your watch works. Gotta run, off to buy a Tissot ;-)
Well there is that I suppose! 4 weeks after I bought it I was away and managed to scratch the black bezel, went back very sheepishly, even though it was a tiny mark, the lady remembered that I had bought it as a birthday treat to myself and got it replaced for cost price, taking pity on me I think!I've just had my Speedmaster repaired and serviced by this chap:

Can't recommend his service highly enough, and you get to keep track of your watch repairs:

Not local to Reading but I used these guys to repair and refurb my Seamaster www.swisstimeservices.com
They did a fantastic job, highly recommend them.
FYI I'm near Reading so dealt with them remotely

I've used Duncan at Genesis.... http://www.genesiswatchmaking.co.uk
He's fixed and serviced my zenith el primero and my wife's Rolex. I did lots of research and he came highly recommended on the geeky watch forums. Quick turnaround (this is rare in the watch world), keeps you informed of what's going on and send you screen shots of accuracy testing etc etc. Not cheap, but no fix/service of an automatic watch is and I went for reputation rather than price. Very happy

I have a Seamaster and a Porsche Design PO11. Both have been fully serviced, the Seamaster twice, by Swiss Time Services who are based in Essex. Excellent service. If you send a watch by post they will quote you a price for the work and it usually takes about two weeks to be done. Note that if you don't want the exterior to be fully refurbished like new, ie you prefer the worn patina look to remain, you should tell them.
