I was looking at these last year. Is it me or have the prices gone through the roof?

Smoke and mirrors chum. Currently 'in vogue' as they are re-issues of older models albeit updated and bigger. Why the following for the Explorer given its without a date is beyond me but suspect some might like the cleaner lines?

Well, one reason being that it is the only Rolex sports watch with a "reasonable" price.

Used prices still about 1.5k or so above what they are objectively worth, but that is the price of entry these days.

Both valid points and both similar annoying points as well when trying to make a purchase laugh

Buying new seems an obvious choice to me when pre owned aren't that far off new prices, excluding the above inflated RRP and joining a waiting list is a no no for me. Coupled with the new 2016s carrying a 5 year warranty although is a 5 year warranty really needed?

A preowned model is still considerably less expensive. Here in Germany a decent one can be had for 3.5k.

With my comment, I just meant that the product have hit comedy prices used and new because Rolex is a marketing machine.
