Are these really going for seven grand now?
They were little more than half that a year or two ago...

I sold a 2003, immaculate, freshly Rolex serviced, Pepsi to a dealer a year ago for £4200. They were little more than half that a year or two ago...

Ive just traded mines for a Pre Comex Sub.
Dealers were asking in the region of 5 grand for mines. I had the Twin stick dial . The numerals are sticks instead of the lines atop the one's.
There are variations , the harder to find pre ceramic bezels fitted with the 3186 movement gets the traders and collectors all hot under the collar.

The 'rectangular' dial is the normal version, it is the 'stick' dial which came out in approx 2006 that is more sought after, and the last versions with the 3186 caliber as opposed to the 3185 caliber are highly collectable. Confusion arises as many people assume that all stick dial watches have the 3186 movement however this is not the case and it is not possible to tell from the serial number, the only way is to open the case back and check!

There is the Wiggle test , i did that and as far as i could tell its a 3185. The watch trader i purchased it from actually had written 3185 on the paperwork. The nuances in varying detail differences in Rolex models is enough to send you nuts though.

I'm waiting for the value of my 16700 to increase in line with the (hopefully) lowering prices of the BLNR - I'd swap them in a heartbeat. never thought I'd say that.
If I had a BLNR I'd swap you today. Your watch is the nicer, lighter and better proportioned of the two.WelshChris said:

Aaaargh - You possibly speak the truth, but I'd still do a swap I reckon. The BLNR is a thing of beauty - I'll just have to have both (in my dreams)Buy a Pepsi or Coke bezel and change the look of it. It's a classy watch.
