Cant spend thousands and not that well up on watches, but I have two long held desires, a vintage Omega Seamaster and/or a Tag of some description, but it has to have the red and green logo for some reason. Needs to be fairly simple/low key, not gold or overly flash looking.

I know Tags arent well regarded on here but I still want one, kind of thinking of spending up to a grand.

Your advice ?

I got a 62 Seamaster from the customer ads in Tesco smile

Not sure I would spend a grand on a Tag second hand, and I say that having done so. Second hand Aquaracer chrono. I only did it to replace an Tag from my 18th, which Tag ruined by replacing the face with an awful red and green logo one smile

That is the kind of thing, I know they aren't the epitome of anything watch wise but I do have a thing for them, got given a replica in about 1990 and always said I would get a real one one day, I hate the term bucket list but definitely something I want to do in 2017.

I have a Sinn U1 and love it. Wear it daily. Picked mine up for £1k a couple of years ago but they seem to have increased a bit. Bullet proof and fit for most occasions.

If you aren't buying it for resale then what matters is whether you like it or not!

That is the kind of thing, there is also one called a 2000 and the link ones that fit my rather narrow ideal.

My youngest son has a mate whos dad owns a jewellers and a brother who buys and sells watches, will see if they can locate something, just need to put a few quid aside.

the 1500 was entry level, then the 2000, then the 4000 and then the 6000. IIRC the 6000 has case issues - the bracelet pins wear out the case and they crack. The 4000 was my first decent watch, bought new, and I had the quartz. Here is an auto with box and papers, and they seem to be quite hard to find good ones
