A Mares Matrix Dive watch for the grand total of 15 hours.

Which makes me realise I should call it quits with the watch game and sell the lot.

That is beautiful... and then you see the font of the date is nowhere close to the font of the dial.
That would bug me.

I really hanker after one of these. I really like it on the tropical strap but cannot get on with the steel bracelet design. I'm seriously thinking of getting one this year., although it would mean selling my SS Daytona.

Have you had any reliability issues with yours chris56? 'tis a work of art is that.......

Before you jump, take a look around at what else there is, that possibly let’s you keep the Daytona.
By way of examples…

A 1951 Helvetia:

I've tried other watches, but this discrete hand-wound remains my daily. A few turns of crown sets it up for the day, and the Speidel expanding bracelet slips on effortlessly.

I had a lazy tendency to chuck on a Breitling Aerospace most days over the past few years as it didn't require setting/winding. Now I have the Bremont it's been a daily wearer. Really happy with it; the elapsed time bezel insert comes in handy for work. I now have to get round to selling the stuff in the watch box that I never wear anymore.

Although I have well over 100 watches, including a few fairly expensive ones, the one that I've worn the most this year is a black plastic Sekonda sub-alike with a green bezel. £15 on eBay. Second most worn is a Mido Multifort bumper auto.
I recently purchased a Zenith Rainbow Flyback, which has become my daily.
