Is anyone on a waiting list? I've been quoted 2 years for a Sub GMT etc. I've never known waiting times this long before.

And yet an AD in Newcastle I walked into last week had a GMT2, Sea Dweller and Yacht Master in the window and ready to be bought.

The emperor will always need new clothes.....

I think waiting times vary hugely between different towns
I've got a deposit down for a sub nd and I've been told about 3 months
I would guess a GMT Batman still has a serious wait
Might be worth ringing around

Waittig lists are just a dealership thing aren't they? I mean, if you want one from dealer x, will they call dealer y and get one sent over?

You'd think with demand so high for some models, Rolex would be more proactive with pricing.

It's pretty unique that they have waiting lists for watches at all. The prices are already incredible for SS sports watches but still there are waiting lists. They could probably even get away with some kind of uber surge pricing facility

Rolex in Harrod's have every model. You just ask the person for the model you want and they get it out the vault

Well I don't know but worth a try. If any AD/ branch is going to have one it would be them.

I remember trying on my first Rolex there and they ask which one (a sub at the time) and 30 seconds later a tray comes out with a selection to choose from.

That isn't true.

Daytona they won't have and they probably won't have the blnr or the Hulk either.

No you don't know, no it isn't worth trying, no it wouldn't be them...sorry to be blunt, nothing personal but I'm afraid it is just not a realistic thing to say. If you're not on a list you're not going to get a Daytona at retail anywhere globally, let alone in the UK.

Was quoted 12 months for Gmt BLNR. Made the AD know I was a serious buyer and would pick up the watch the same day if they called me. Rather than a lot of time wasters on the list.

2 Weeks later and I'm wearing my batman!

Similarly I am in the Middle East where the turnover for Rolex is huge, I got a previous Daytona in 2015 on a 10 day wait and had similar for a BLNR just last week. They actually got 5 BLNR in at the same time and didn't have any list for them although they were selling fast.

If anyone were to want one a 350pound flight to Qatar with KLM could secure them a BLNR for 28,900QAR which is 6,357GBP at the current exchange rate. The wait would be a month max if they don't have one in stock now.

Simmer down love. Of course it's always worth checking. They usually get a black/blue GMT in every month or so. Agreed it's not there all the time but worth calling up.

I don't need to simmer down, and no it really isn't worth checking for a Daytona, BLNR's are pretty easy to get hold of, a SS Daytona is several orders of magnitude harder to get hold of at retail, unless you know someone or are on a list you will not get a Daytona from calling Harrods or any other dealer at retail. I don't know how I can be any clearer.

I have to agree with you there, the chances of walking into a AD and buying a steel Daytona are virtually 0! Mind you saying that I did get one a couple of years back in the Caribbean but I had to buy a sub as well. On another note you would be surprised at how many dreamers put there name down on a list for watches and then haven't got the money to pay for it when it comes in!

I picked up my BLNR within about a month and a half of putting my name down at a local AD. I did make a point of popping in every couple of weeks just to check where I was on the list as they said they were getting more in. I'm pretty sure they called me when I was near the top of the list as they knew I'd buy it immediately, which I did smile
