Ignore the sensationalised header but one of the directors have stepped down at Watchfinders. I first used Watchfinders approximately 15 years ago in their Maidstone office. Have used them over the years to buy and sell watches. I have always found them to be very fair and efficient, and I think the directors have done very well in setting up and expanding their business.

No point to this thread but thought I would post in case any of you know the chap/company.

Not looked at their financials, but you have to say, they do appear to have built a pretty successful business.

They offered me 4800 for my gently used 114060 Submariner which was much higher than anyone else so I was very happy.

Sold one and bought two, no problems and I was happy with the deals.

There's a lot of hype surrounding WF. From personal experience, I sold a 1 month old watch to them, their offer was 15% higher than I could have get from private sale. They then listed it for more than I paid for it new and reduced it once and it sold (even if they knocked further 200 quid off it would have still been more than what I paid). Judging by other prices they do this all the time and people are happy to pay their overinflated prices. Thanks to that and the fact that others use them as benchmark certain 2nd hand watches became ridiculously expensive.

Seems a reasonable move. He's been at it since 2002 and wants to do something else.
