My collection is now one.
Discussion
Until late last year I had 3 watches. A 16610 sub mariner, a vintage Rolex & a AP Roo. I was on the way to developing my developing a dream collection. Then. I sold the vintage piece after 15 years & this week let the AP go this week. Up until then I really thought I would build up a collection of the above, a PP 5712, JLC Reverso & Blaincpain. This has gone out of the window as I, like most people I have 2 wrist & can wear only 1 watch. I couldn't deal with the fact they were not getting wrist time. It became a bit of a psychological issue that I dealt with by getting rid. Maybe I should have invested in a watch turner. I have the proceeds of the ROO but don't think I will dip into another watch. But I will admire from afar. Any others with the same thoughts or am I going crazy.
I have tried to downgrade my collection twice, each time it lasted about three months, but the lure of a new piece and the proceeds in the safe I am afraid it only goes one way, yes I am back to four again. Try as I might the watch obsession is to great inside me. I am doomed but I know that and I live with it.
I don't understand this at all. You're going to need a work watch, a casual watch, a beach/swimming watch, formal watch, a vintage piece, a birth year watch, something in black, white, panda, blue, gold, maybe orange, a chronograph (don't want to overdo the soft boiled eggs), a calender pointer or your favourite other complication, an automatic, a handwound, vintage electric/mechanical hybrid, an Accutron, a Springdrive, a jump-hour, a pilots watch, marine watch, diving watch, driving watch etc......but not a G-Shock.

I just wish i was a one watch guy. I admire the most those people whom have owned there Submariner since the 70'80's , worn it every day and kept it running.
If I was to ever drop down to a single watch then it would most probably be a Submariner, a 16610 would do the trick.13m said:

I wear one watch 99% of the time out of about 15 I have.
What is it?Most of the other watches I have use the same movement (Lemania 5100), I'm a bit of a fan. The EZM1 uses it best (personally speaking). It's a really easy to read chronograph and has been very logically designed, I've used it for lots of multi-day races in all sorts of conditions/places - robust as a Submariner, great size, all dull titanium, full countdown bezel, no dial distractions (subdued date/script) and one of the only mechanical chronographs you can actually read in the dark.
This one is the final run LE version with captive bezel, a/r coating and larger lume pip -
I've actually got two - the other one is one of the very first ones, it was issued to a German Customs 'SWAT' type unit who helped Sinn design it -

I was wondering how it counted the minutes until I spotted the second chronograph hand under the first..jpg)
So straight away you know you're about 45mins in. Easier at a glance than a small subdial on a 30 minute scale, especially when running.
ETA: The strap is a gasgasbones, so that if a pin gives way you don't lose the watch, same as a NATO.
