I couldn't ID it for sure, but it has the look of a vintage Longines to me.

More along the lines of a Doctors /Prince . Something about the side of the case looks wrong

Age-wise I'd estimate as circa 1920s. I've got something fairly similar with a hinged gold case and a crown the same shape.

Thanks for all the replies so far, very interesting,I assume the very fine hand written numbering inside the case would be from repairs or servicing? There's quite a few so I assume it was looked after at some point. What surprises me the most is that there is no makers name and yet quite a lot of detail, was this normal for the time? As you may have gathered I know nothing about watches but I am finding it fascinating. Here's a couple more pictures and once again thanks for your help.
