Please convince me not to!

I've fancied an Omega for a couple of years now - but the ones I liked were ~£4k and I wasn't willing to spend that. However, I was browsing Goldsmiths window display at the weekend and saw this :

I really like it, and ~£2,400 seems more like a price I'm willing to pay. I also searched and it seems a used one (3 years old) is probably ~£1850.

It's my birthday in a couple of weeks, which makes for a very tempting excuse. However, I have spent a fair chunk of cash recently on frivolous purchases (not watches - mostly on a 4th car a couple of months ago) so have been trying to be sensible and replace some of the money I've spent.

ETA : Thought I'd created this in the watch forum - mods, please can you move?

Um, That's not how it works here.
Try hunting down a forum member called Dominic Hackett of Hackett watches (DomH.)

And congratulations on the impending first purchase of your soon to be burgeoning collection. Excellent choice!

It wouldn't be my first watch - it would add to a Breguet and a Daytona.

I was aware of Dom H and mailed him yesterday. His price is very tempting, and I think that may have swung it..... I'm going to sleep on it over the weekend, but may well call him on Monday and place an order. It really is frivolous, but - well, it is my birthday this month so.....

The exact watch you are after is £1800 on creationwatches.com, albeit with a metal strip, but you could easily change that for the price difference.

Omega watches seem to be discounted heavily so you should never pay rrp.

Good luck
