I bought a Planet Ocean Si 14, 2.5 years ago, thankfully it is still in the warranty period. Recently it has started to struggle to get the hour hand past 9, so it will 'lose' an hour after 9AM/PM and then never get to 10AM/PM.
The minute hand continues along its journey just fine.
Bought at Singapore Airport, but I live in Jakarta and will be taking it to the local Omega service centre when I'm back home later this week.
I understand a 3 year warranty is given on these co-axial movements so fortunately still covered.

I'm hoping they don't cite abuse of the watch and try to charge me for the repair, I have one minor scratch on the bezel but otherwise I barely use it, I do not use it day to day as I'm normally in a Garmin Fenix 3 HR for that.

Do these have a reputation for failing so early in theur life?

They are normally really hard wearing watch, but things do go wrong and as you say it's under warranty, so no worries

Is it an intermittent fault?

Have you tried to let the watch run right down and then manually wind it up?

My PO could sometimes be a pain in the arse and a few times it did stick.

I tried the above a few times and it worked fine.

The same has happened to mine - a quick Google search shows it to be a fairly common problem. I think it's because of the independent hour hand adjustment, part of the mechanism wears out and it's a fairly easy fix by all accounts.
