Rather than paying £10k more than the list price for a Nautilus, I thought I'd put myself on the waiting list with PP in London. I thought it was a 2 year wait.

No chance!

Now a 10 year waiting list (list closed).

I will force myself to go off the idea. smile

The 5711/A is my ‘lottery win’ watch - very occasionally I see online a trader selling one new in box at a crippling sum.

As far as I was aware there wasn’t THAT much demand for them over, say, Rolexes or AP etc so I don’t get the wait, unless supply has been strangled(?)

10 yrs? I wasn't even quoted that long a wait time for a Tiffany dial 5711

Try somewhere else, ideally overseas, but definitely not in London.

You're quite right, they weren't selling a few years ago - but demand has now totally outstripped supply as they seem to be the 'must have' Patek

Surely the very best reason to buy something else.

WF have one of these up for 30k which is 12k over list. With those kind of premiums anyone just gets their name down with the hope of making a quick buck.

I am struggling to find an aquanaut which is the poor mans version so the demand has had impact across the range.

still do not wear mine very much - compared to the SD it feels very small and delicate. Too scared to sell in case we have not reached the top of the bubble smile
