My 10 year old Rolex 'Kermit' started getting a bit irregular about 2-3 years ago and I stopped using it, with a view to getting it serviced when I could be arsed to do so. The watch has probably had about 4-5 years use in total, max.

I'd heard good things about Watchdoctors in Tring so a few days ago I drove out there to see what they would say about the watch. The nice lady at the bank like counter took it backstage for a watchmaker to give an estimate. About 15 minutes later she reappeared with good news. Evidently it had developed a minor fault (maybe winder related, in one ear and out the other) and had been corrected on the spot. No need for a service, all's well, no charge. Just keep an eye on it for a bit. I promised I would certainly be back. I'm so pleased to have my watch back again, the Milgauss can have a well earned rest now.

In this money grubbing day and age, what splendid integrity.

+1 - they are superb and have been for a long time (before they changed their name actually)

+1 also for Watchdoctors, they are local to me and do all our watches every couple of years or so.

Highly recommended.
