Hi All,

I have a sneaky suspicion that my eldest (15 year old) has started to wear my watches to school!!!!

Some of them are expensive......I shall have to save that question for another forum LOL !

So the face (I'm guessing crystal) of my Tag - Tiger Woods edition Link has scratches on the glass. I also has a couple of specks, where I guess he has fallen over or something.

The imperfections can be felt with my nail but are not too deep.

This particular watch also needs a service....so what/where shall I go?

Should I just pop in to my local Watches of Switzerland or Goldsmiths or is there another better/cheaper options?

Help.

Sapphire crystal can not be polished. It's unusually hard and difficult to scratch in the first place.
You may also find that the exterior has been coated with an anti-reflection treatment, although many watches have this on the inside only.

As suggested above, try giving Joe a ring at Anglesea Watch Centre. You'll find him easier to reach via his website.

Another strong recommendation for Variomatic (Joe Horner) at Anglesey Watches and Clocks.

Back in July he carried out a 10 service and polish on my 38mm Cartier Pasha Chronograph. He took the time to answer all of my daft questions patiently, turned the watch around within the agreed time limit, and even did it under the agreed budget. The quality of the work was first class, as was the customer service. Added to which, his prices were a quarter of what Cartier were quoting.

Thanks Joe thumbup I'll definatley be using your services again.
I thought you were still inside in July?

I sorted that little job out on a 5 day home leave (Resetllement Overnight Release)
Yes probably exactly what I would do too rather than spend it with my family. I'd definitely go and get an old watch serviced.

Wife was at work, daughter was at school, mother was out for lunch with some friends. Ironing, laundry, washing up and vacuming were all completed. Is that alright by you?
Fine by me, like I say it's probably the first thing I'd think about doing too after 6 years inside - have a watch polished.
