Hi all,

Can anyone recommend a decent compact travel/storage case for a single watch?

I know Rolex supply a very thin pouch type thing, but I don't fancy one of those as the watch is just slid into it and can scratch itself, plus I would rather it offered some protection from external knocks.

I just want one for slipping my watch into when I take it off at home, before dropping it in my bedside drawer, and when I'm away from home and need to stick it in my bag or whatever.

Thanks

You always get one with a service. IWC and Breitling do good ones.

I use a knife case like this one:

I've just measured mine & it's 180mm long at the spine & it's just right.

When travelling with a watch I use a 'service pouch' that was given to me after getting an Omega serviced a couple of years ago.

It's perfect for travelling. I bought another off eBay recently for £15.

If you're not bothered about it being branded Omega and you want something inexpensive, then I can recommend them...

Thanks for the suggestions. Some stuff I hadn't heard of!

The Casebudi looks decent actually, and available in various sizes.

I don't mind using Omega/Breitling service cases, doesn't really bother me what name they have on them.

Looks like Breitling do a really handy little hard case:

The older Breitling service case is a little more practical than the one you have pictured (I have had both).
Mine has been around the world with me for years, is designed for one but will hold three, and takes up very little room.

The other option would be a small peli case.

What's wrong with a pair of socks?

Has worked for me for 30 years.

Well, if it’s a valuable watch, I use two pairs of non crusty socks smile

Erm... I have actually stuffed watches inside pairs of socks whilst travelling.

However I am just looking for a solution that is slightly more 'elegant' shall we say? biggrin
