Hi all I'm thinking of selling my CWC divers watch it's a 1986 Tritium quartz model, does anyone know of the values of these now? I'm hearing stories of big money but surely that cannot be correct. I paid £110 for it 10 years ago. I've attached a shot of the back to show the numbers which makes it traceable. It's not in immaculate condition but I'm not sure that detracts too much as it's been well used above and below the surface. Hope you can help.

A quick search using google would suggest not big money. $449 gets a quartz Tritium model from the 1980's in decent condition.

Nice though, and a steal at that price you paid.

Ive heard today that one went to auction with Watches of Knightsbridge last year and made just over £3k, it was a little nicer than mine. Think I might hang on to it for a while yet

Do you have a link to that auction?

The only one I can recall was an auto and it sold for a LOT more than £3k, IIRC it went for £7k, but they are an order of magnitude more rare than the quartz.

I would imagine a quartz getting £3k would have had a "story" attached SBS provenance or similar.

No I don't have a link but I was contacted by CWC watches themselves on Instragam and was informed on there, according to CWC there was an automatic same as mine but three years older that went for £7k in the same auction.

Just been looking around on the auction house sites and found a link to the one sold last year, click on the link and look for lots 191 and 192, as you will see 191 went for £7.2 and 192 went for £3.2k

What kind of bellend am I, I looked at that auction and got to the £7k one, no further smile

Thought I put this in my first post, but great watch whatever the value.

I guess that the value of the auto might have produced a bit of an outlying bid on the very similar next lot.
I recon £1200-1500 would be more realistic, baring in mind a 90s (tritium) issued watch sold in the auction prior for £480 and a 2000’s (lum) auto made £950 in the September auction.
