Complaint about Tissot watches.
Discussion
amongst my collection I have six Tissot watches which I have owned for a number of years. About 15 years in the case of the oldest.
Three of them have developed faults with one or more of their functions.
Tissot tell me that they cannot repair them due to their policy of not keeping parts for any watch more than ten years old. This means that not only are Tissot watches likely to fail ( well, fifty percent of mine have ), but they then become suitable only for throwing away.
I am very disgusted with this, especially since they were top of the Tissot range watches, and Tissot are being very unhelpful about this.
Does anyone know of a governing body or national association that might exist for Swiss based watch firms ? I will make my complaint to them if such an organisation exists.
Cheers.

Maybe if you were extremely disgusted you may have a case!
I'm sure that you are right, but try as I may I can only just manage to be disgusted. Do you think that if I stood on my head and held my breath I might actually make it to " extremely " ?
Thanks, guys, for your kind help. Unfortunately, as I said when opening this post, Tissot choose not to maintain a stock of parts for any of their watches that are more than ten years old ; which is built in obsolescence , is it not ?
I have, though, taken the watch to a member of the B.H.I., who is hopeful of getting it fixed.
Thanks.
