I’m based in Dubai and the sole dealer isn’t interested in helping. Target purchase date is end of the year ideally in the UK. Must be new and from an AD as I won’t pay grey market mark ups.

Im registered with Robinson’s in Manchester and have emailed Goldsmiths and Mappins without reply so far. Anywhere else worth trying to register? London even? Some of the smaller dealers up north won’t take orders as I’m outside of their county (Whitley’s Preston for example).

Hopefully 11 months should be sufficient time to obtain one. I’m seeing very mixed reports on UK availability. Robinson’s have said they’re very confident but as I’m back for Christmas this year would be ideal to pick up whilst there. Don’t want to be left disappointed

Has it really become this hard to buy a very nice but ultimately fairly common watch? confused

I phoned a few ADs in london this week for the same watch. Was told that I'd be waiting a year for it.

It’s difficult to know to be honest. I’ve only just decided now but from initial enquiries it would seem so. The Dubai dealer reckons he gets 8 or 10 a month and that every one for the next 2 years is already spoken for. I honestly think that’s total crap. Perhaps people are doing what I am and just adding to several waiting lists which would artificially bump up so called waiting lists.

That sound nonsense to me. I was based in Kuwait earlier this year and basic subs/GMTs you could pretty much walk in & pick up. I doubt its that much different in Dubai.

To be honest the guy was just being a tool. I asked to try on any form of submariner just to try for size. He said no, nothing. I asked how people get to try them before buying he said no need to bother and just got really arsey. Would rather give my money to the UK than Saddiqi now anyways. If I can get a bit of tax back then that's a bonus.

I'll drop WOS an email too.

But of an update but the 2 dealers that have me on their lists have improved waiting times to 6 months. I expect it’ll be quicker in reality. Stock is coming through now though it seems.
