Take a look at www.stowa.de . It'll be a little bit more than your budget but they're superb value and I'm chuffed to bits with my new Marine classic.

Laco, Seiko...
Have a look at the Jura Watches website. They sell many brands. You can search by reference to price bands too.
Also at that price point you could look at some of the more homage type brands - Steinhart, Christopher Ward.
My money would probably go either to Germany or Japan.
Happy shopping.

I really like the Hamilton Scuba Auto, so much so I'd probably have bought one if I wasn't anticipating a really expensive few months ahead. They're a bit over £500, but I'm sure you could haggle something off.

They come with a flash of orange or all black and they're not too massive, which is quite refreshing.

I've got 20 or more Seiko's and normally I'd agree with what's been said above. A 62MAS Re-issue is what I'd go for..... Saying that though and I've said this on other threads, you'll struggle to find better value than a Dan Henry watch. I bought a 1970 just before Christmas and I've just ordered a 1963
For your budget you can pretty much have both !!

I just bought one of these. This is now a superceeded model. The new one is the jurashop one. But it maybe a little big for you as its 43mm.
There are differences between the 2 and I purchased the old one due to the movement. The newer one in my opinion looks better, shame that they changed to powermatic.
£655 is the retail and you'll find most of these sites will have a 10% discount for signing up.

For £590 after discount, I don't think anything comes close to value v workmanship. This is the newer one with powermatic.

My previous one.

A bit of a left-field choice perhaps, but what about an MHD AGT? I have a couple of Matthew’s watches and they are excellent. This is his new automatic model, which I’d love, but I’ve been told by MrsB. that under no circumstances am I allowed to have anymore watches! In fairness, she sometimes wears my MHD CR1 and she loves it. I think having a watch designed my a car designer is also quite cool as a petrolhead and it does get a lot of nice comments from others. Good value too.
I just love the fact that the case has the knurling around it and then it looks like it’s dropped into the skeletal chassis.
