I was getting my hair cut last night and another customer had this watch on. I thought it looked absolutely brilliant.

I don't know much about watches, but I'm thinking this would be a good investment? Would I be wrong? Is it better than money in the bank?

I wouldn't want to wear it much, not a daily, just something to wear on special occasions and enjoy owning. Perhaps sell in a few years to put towards a house move.

Its certainly a lovely watch.
If you have a spare 5K which you are sick of keeping, then its a good way to spend it. smile

They have already gained about a grand in value, since Basel last year, so if you can find one still in stock new at a retailer, you will be quids in straight away.

Happy hunting.

I saw the limited edition Seamaster at an event in a local Omega boutique just before Christmas, and it's a lovely watch. The one I tried on sold five minutes later.

The Railmaster in the same range is also very nice. I prefer it because it doesn't have a rotating bezel, but it's not attracting the same premium as the Seamaster.

There are two Omega boutiques in Melbourne, and the one at the Crown Casino had both the Seamaster and Railmaster in the window when I passed a couple of weeks ago. I suspect that there are still some available new elsewhere, but you might want to move fast.

Nah - they are available new at £5200 reasonably readily. The ones I've seen actually sell on the secondhand market have gone for £5k. The people asking £6k are chancing their arm.
