Hi all. Always look upon Gassing Station for car related advice but I have a watch query that i'm hoping that I can get some advice for.

I unfortunately was burgled while on holiday and my cars were stolen along with my wife's tiffany ring and my tag carrera watch. Thankfully the ring and the watch were individually insured so I got a cheque for the ring (as Signet don't deal with tiffany's) but was given a Signet eInsurance card worth £3895 for the watch.

One of the cars stolen was my 981 boxster which the insurance company has paid out on but nowhere near what I thought I'd get. I wanted to get a 911 so will use whatever money I received for a deposit.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could sell my eInsurance card as I would much prefer to put the cash towards my car replacement than the watch? I considered buying a watch to sell but watches are to such personal taste that I wouldn't know which model to get. I would be happy to sell the card for around £3100 but just dont know how to.

Did you not reject the card? You don't have to accept a voucher. You are entitled to the money back unless it says specifically in your policy.

Also, signet group (Ernest Jones, H.Samuel, etc) are a bloody rip and you'll be losing a good percentage of the true value in the purchase price.

Take it up with your insurer and see if they'll give you the money. I see it all the time in my job.
