El Primero, Longines & Monaco question?
Discussion
I have tried to find an accurate answer on the net but get different answers and pictures.
1. What was the first El Primero watch?
2. What was the first Longines chronograph?
3. Did Tag ever release a black and orange Monaco in the past few years?
Any answers will help me sleep. Cheers

1. What was the first El Primero watch?
1969 was when the first El Primero was released.
2. What was the first Longines chronograph?
The type 20h was the first chronograph movement (from early 1800s) but guessing you mean wristwatch then it was the 13.33z from 1913.
3. Did Tag ever release a black and orange Monaco in the past few years?

For in-depth info on vintage Zenith and Longines there are dedicated sub-forums on https://omegaforums.net - Heuer obviously OnTheDash.
The first El Primero came in three flavours; the A384, A385 and A386 with about 2,500 made of each. Sources vary as to the actual first, but I think they were all about the same time and certainly the same year of first production, 1969.

The A386 was probably the most well known one due to the tri-coloured overlapping dial and the traditional round case rather than the squared off style and 'normal' subdials.
Mine's a series III so probably 1971:

Thank you for your replies. I am now tired with Rolex because simply you can’t buy a steel sports watch. I refuse to buy at a premuim and encourage flipping.
I have started at looking at other interesting brands. I really do like the El Primero, Heuer Autavia and I’m getting a little obsessed with the Speedmaster.

The only downside to the old El Primeros is the size, they are really small by today’s standards, lovely watches tho.
