Hi guys,

Looking to buy my first Rolex, have decided on the Rolex Submariner Steel And Gold Black or Blue dial.

R.R.P at AD is £9900 with a 6 months waiting list. Could anyone guide me where I can get a discounted one in stock and how much should I expect to pay for a good deal?

Thanks

So how much discount do you think you'll get as a first time Rolex buyer, when there is a waiting list?

If you don't want to pay full RRP (and wait) you'll have to buy pre-owned.

Here you go, only a £45 premium to avoid the lengthy wait.

Really? A sub is 9k these days? Didn't realise they've risen in price that much.

Bonkers.

Seems reasonable if there’s a waiting list for the things now. I got about 15% off my bimetal with blue a couple of years ago, before the price rise. Do you want the black face one though? I think the blue looks much nicer, although I am biased! wink

Ah another vote for the blue!

Everyone has been pushing me to get the blue dial to the point that I no longer want the black dial biggrin

Will have to source a blue dial one now although the black dial was a great price, in stock too!

Clearly you should get what you want, but at this price point I think it needs to be something you love! For me, if I was getting a black dial I’d focus on getting the stainless steel watch. I wasn’t a fan of the bi-metal look per se, but I am a huge fan of the blue face and dial. biggrin

My local AD (Robert Gatward in Windsor) has a bi-metal with blue face in the window...

I bought mine brand new last June (blue and gold) and Goldsmiths knocked about £300 off. Wouldn't fuss me if they didn't because in all honestly if you're getting hung up on things like that on a watch that's nearly £10k you probably shouldn't be buying one.

There is a jewellers in the Regent Arcade in Cheltenham that I'm sure had a pre-owned one in the window when I walked by on Saturday.
