So I'm hoping to get a little insight on this movement. I'm looking at a NOS watch with a 5100 and have been weighing up if it's worth the asking price.
Having read a number of articles it seems some people see it as a classic (if ugly as f) movement which will only become move valuable and sought after as time goes by. Whereas others claim parts are about to dry up and the watches will soon be unserviceable and worthless.
So I guess the question is would you take the risk?

Parts for the L5100 are fairly easy to get, there are also specialists that carry a lot of stock, so not too many worries on that front; a movement costs about £750 new or about £550 s/h, although a donor watch for less than that is perhaps possible.
